This WC was doing our Artistic Opposites. According to Bert, my opposites are photographing boys, animals, cars, and/or taking super photo-pure pictures. Well...this little montage thing has three of those! This is my little brother and my dog. The only edits to the pictures are adjustments to the color (black and white) and little adjustments to contrast/etc.

Silk Painting
On my silk painting, I give myself a four on the AP scoring rubric. I feel that my piece does show 5D, successful engagement with experimentation and/or risk-taking. I feel that my piece also shows the following qualities of a four on the rubric: 4B, some clear decision-making and intention; 4C, a demonstration of some imaginative ideas and purposeful manipulation of the elements and principles of design in the work’s composition; 4E, evocative and engaging qualities though some lack of confidence or lack of engaging qualities with confidence is demonstrated in the work.

Weekly Challenge 6: Adobe Illustrator
This week's challenge was to create a typography piece in Adobe Illustrator. I did the smoke background with a photoshop brush, but other than that the text is 100% Illustrator. I chose the word "Serendipity". I'm still very new to this program, so the turnout was a little rough but here it is:

Weekly Challenge 7: Pearl Street Field Trip
Our weekly challenge this week was posting our favorite picture from our field trip on Monday to Pearl Street! Here is mine, which was taken at a candy shop which I forgot the name of. It turned out to be a kinda cool gradient picture unintentionally!

Weekly Challenge 5: Bad Fashion
For this weekly challenge, my theme was depicting my favorite "bad fashion" trend. I chose fedoras, because they are pretty much the definition of an overused item that used to be considered haute couture. Anyways, this is my friend modeling what used to be a black fedora...until I turned it magenta, because that's what Photoshop is for!

Narrative Story
Well...this was a really cool idea in my head, but I'm not sure how I feel about the final result. It looks kind of sloppy, and I wish I was a better fine artist so the drawing portion didn't look so strange...Anyways, here's my narrative of a boy (my brother) who finds a magical paintbrush and uses it to become a real person. It's inspired a little bit by Pinocchio, and a little bit by Harold and the Purple Crayon, one of my favorite books growing up.

Weekly Challenge 4
This is my Week 4 challenge, which was portraiture. I was going for an interesting piece that doesn't look like every other picture of a posed model. I'm not sure if I like how it turned out, but here it is:
